Although we appreciate greatly that various kinds of NGOs and donors putting efforts and resources to mitigate the suffering of victims during natural or man-made disasters now a days, we seldom see retrospect and reflection afterwards in order to change behaviors and to prevent similar ones in the future. Personally, I would boldly say that most natural disasters are caused by environmental degradation which is resulted from endless, long termed exploitation and damage to natural resources including biological species. Selfishness and rapacity are the reasons behind, that might be interpreted as the dark side of humanity.
In my previous note shared on 21st April at LinkedIn I dauntlessly quoted someone’s statement that “God wants to severely warn and punish humans (with this COVID-19 pandemic) other than the various disasters we have encountered in recent years, and more to come.” It seems that politicians in every country pay much more attention to virus control and economic stimulus than to moral education and psychological recovery, which might bring us more devastating catastrophes in the future resulted from humans’ misconducts in almost every aspect of life and having been harmful to the nature and sustainability. Many evidences have shown to us that animals from the wild came to cities and communities during the lockdown owing to fewer human activities.
The unspoken Universe is full of love that keeps order and balance in, sometimes, chaos among countless constellations in the outer space. Chinese say that human and Universe is united into one for human being is part of the universe, and ought to obey the axiom set forth for the nature to thrive sustainably. Chinese culture is well-known for its nature-oriented doctrines represented by Taoism as one of schools of philosophy. We see the Heaven and the Earth as Father and Mother, which conceive and nurture life endlessly, just like parents give birth to children and raise them up one generation after another.
Confucianism is the most important and pervasively practiced philosophy in daily life in Chinese history. People are taught to be filial piety to parents and grandparents for showing respect and gratitude to their upbringing and giving in the childhood which lasts normally until university graduation. What a long period it is and a great sacrifice that the parent has gone through. Filial piety is in the first and highest priority of good deeds that Chinese culture emphasizes on, with which people tend to be kind to and respect other people to maintain harmonious relationship. This kindness extends to the nature and universe.
Chinese culture has been also influenced heavily by Buddhism in 2000 years, which, together with Taoism and Confucianism, is deeply rooted in Chinese collective consciousness. Causal relationship and Karma are two major concepts in Buddhism. Most Chinese people believe in good merits attributed to kind conducts and vice versa, which might be presented in this lifetime instead of that one the conduct was executed.
According to the news and various media throughout the world we found that the wild life is now more thriving than ever before during the lockdown period of only about 2 months. It is said that Ozone hole in Antarctic pole has been shrunk and the one in the north pole is also self-healing to the best condition in the period same as the COVID-19 pandemic. Even it may not be directly linked and proven that corona virus disease be the reason for Ozone hole healing in both south and north poles, this pandemic is, indeed, a “blessing” for the wild life being released from humans’ destruction and devastation. It really implies that the Universe wants to impose the COVID-19 to humans throughout the globe to give the nature and biological species a window to breathe.
Ted Sun, the Guru of “Super Life Secret Codes” keeps urging readers and students to follow the norms stated in “Guidelines for Being a Good Person” which was originally edited mainly for Children’s moral enlightenment education in Qing Dynasty about 350 years ago. Ted Sun said the self is the most crucial thing for a person that is identified by his virtue and kindness following the doctrines of “Guidelines for Being a Good Person” which can easily comply with those of the Universe. Only when humans do the right things beneficial to others can they enjoy the resonance with the Universe, and eventually transcend their spirit and soul from the body. No wonder Chinese people who are practicing “Guidelines for Being a Good Person” are mostly in a harmonious state with others and with the nature. Hopefully, this short note is of interest and enlightening to all people who might be able to read this note.
Now, I would like to share the collection of songs composed and the lyrics written by Ted Sun. Although they are in Chinese, you might be able to enjoy the melody of each song and its energy inserted.
